Heat oven to 500°F. Sprinkle cornmeal over pizza peel or 2 baking pans.

Roughly chop mushrooms into 3/4-inch pieces. Melt the butter in a medium skillet over medium-high heat. Add mushrooms and cook, stirring occasionally, for ⏱️ 3 minutes. Add the salt and pepper, and cook for 1 more minute.

Divide dough in half; shape into 2 balls. Roll dough on a floured surface using a floured rolling pin to 12-inch rounds and transfer to the prepared pans.

Add mushrooms and bake until crust is golden brown, about ⏱️ 15 minutes. Add the cheese and return to the oven for 1 more minute. Serve hot.
