Put the tea bags and baking soda in a large heatproof pitcher. Add 4 cups of boiling water and steep ⏱️ 5 minutes. Remove the tea bags without squeezing. Whisk in the sugar until dissolved.

Whisk in 4 cups of cold water. Refrigerate until cool, about ⏱️ 2 hours. Serve over ice and garnish with lemon slices, if you like.
