Slow Cooker Chicken Teriyaki

Place the chicken and onion in a slow cooker and pour over the mixture of the garlic, ginger, soy sauce, sake, mirin, sugar, vinegar, and water and cook on LOW for ⏱️ 8-10 hours or on HIGH for ⏱️ 3-4 hours.

Remove the chicken and shred.

Pour the liquid and everything else in the slow cooker into a saucepan, add the mixture of the 2 tablespoons of water and the cornstarch, bring to a boil, reduce heat and simmer until the sauce thickens, about ⏱️ 3-5 minutes.
