📝 Preparation Steps
1
Combine the brown sugar, salt, garlic powder, smoked paprika, chipotle chile powder, pepper, and mustard powder in a small bowl.
2
Trim some of the fat from the brisket, leaving about a ½-inch-thick layer. Rub the spice mixture all over the brisket. Wrap well in plastic wrap and refrigerate overnight.
3
Whisk together the barbecue sauce and Worcestershire sauce in a 6-quart slow cooker. Add the brisket, fat-side up. Cover and cook on low until very tender, ⏱️ 10 hours.
4
Preheat the broiler and line a baking sheet with foil. Transfer the brisket to the baking sheet (reserve the cooking liquid in the slow cooker). Broil until the brisket is dark and bubbling, 3 to ⏱️ 5 minutes. Let rest for ⏱️ 15 minutes.
5
Pour the reserved cooking liquid into a large liquid measuring cup and skim off the fat. Thinly slice the brisket against the grain. Serve with bread, pickles, and the cooking liquid.
