Rotisserie-Style Chicken
This rotisserie-style chicken delivers the same savory, herb-forward flavor you love from store-bought rotisserie chicken using a simple pantry spice blend. Roast it in the oven for an easy weeknight dinner, or use a rotisserie if you have one.

📝 Preparation Steps
1
Adjust oven rack to lowest position and preheat oven to 425 degrees. In a small bowl, whisk together the paprika, thyme, garlic powder, onion powder, and salt and pepper (I like 1 teaspoon salt and 1/2 teaspoon pepper).

Remove the giblets, pat the chicken dry, and truss it (optional but recommended). Set the trussed chicken in a roasting pan, baking dish, or cast-iron skillet. Brush the outside of the chicken with olive oil. Rub the spice mixture all over the outside of the chicken.

3
Bake uncovered until the chicken reaches an internal temperature of 165 degrees in the thickest part of the chicken, about 70 to ⏱️ 80 minutes (begin checking the temperature at ⏱️ 65 minutes). Baste the chicken periodically (every 15 to ⏱️ 20 minutes) with accumulated juices or olive oil. Remove from oven and let rest ⏱️ 10 minutes before carving.
