📝 Preparation Steps
1
In a large bowl, whisk flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
2
In another medium-sized bowl, whisk melted butter, buttermilk, eggs, and vanilla until well combined.

3
Make a well in the center of the flour mixture and pour the wet ingredients into it. Very gently whisk it all together just until combined (batter will still be lumpy).
4
Cook waffles according to your waffle maker instructions. I cooked mine on medium-high heat for about ⏱️ 4 minutes, or until golden.
5
Serve immediately with butter, maple syrup, strawberries, blueberries, and whipped cream.

Notes:

1. I use a heaping 1/3 cup to fill each square of my waffle maker, then spread it out a bit with a heat-proof spatula. I get about 12-14 squares of waffles per batch, but it will all depend on the size of your waffle maker.

2. I usually make my own buttermilk by placing 1 tablespoon plus 2 teaspoons of vinegar in a measuring cup and filling to the 1 3/4-cup mark. I then pour it into the empty but still-warm pan that I used to melt the butter. This makes the milk split and get thick.
