📝 Preparation Steps
1
Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a large baking sheet with parchment paper. Lightly flour your work surface. Unfold both sheets of thawed puff pastry and gently roll each into a 10-inch square.
2
Cut each pastry square into a 10-inch circle using a large bowl or plate as a guide. Cut a smaller 4-inch circle from the center of each, creating two wreath shapes. Reserve the leftover pastry pieces.
3
Place one pastry wreath onto the prepared baking sheet. Spread the pesto evenly, leaving a ¼-inch border around both the inside and outside edges.
4
Carefully place the second puff pastry wreath on top of the pesto-covered one. Gently press along the inside and outside edges to seal them together.
5
From the reserved pastry pieces, cut nine small circles to resemble holly berries.
6
Beat the egg with 1 tablespoon of water to create an egg wash. Brush this mixture over the top of the wreath.

7
Using a sharp knife or pizza wheel, cut 1-inch wide strips from the outside edge towards the center, stopping 1 inch from the inner circle to keep the ring intact.
8
Dip each pastry 'berry' into the remaining egg wash. Arrange them in clusters of three around the wreath.

9
Carefully twist each strip two or three times in the same direction for a uniform look.
10
Bake for 20 to ⏱️ 25 minutes, or until puffed and golden brown.
11
Remove from oven and cool on the baking sheet for about ⏱️ 5 minutes. Sprinkle generously with grated Parmesan cheese and serve warm with marinara sauce for dipping.
