In a large bowl, combine the peanut butter, butter, and powdered sugar. Beat with an electric mixer until smooth. Stir in cereal until well combined.

Scoop into 1-inch balls and place on a parchment-lined baking sheet. Refrigerate for at least ⏱️ 30 minutes.

In a large microwave-safe bowl, combine the chocolate chips and coconut oil or shortening. Heat for ⏱️ 1 minute and stir, then continue heating for ⏱️ 20-30 seconds and stirring after each interval until chocolate is almost melted. Stir until completely smooth.

One at a time, insert a toothpick into a chilled peanut butter ball and dip it into the melted chocolate. Place on the parchment-lined baking sheet until firm.
