📝 Preparation Steps
1
Place 1 oven rack in the upper third of the oven and a second oven rack in the lower third of the oven. Preheat the oven to 425°F. Line 2 baking sheets with parchment paper.
2
In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, sugar, oregano, baking soda, and salt until well combined. Mix ½ cup of the olive oil into the flour mixture.
3
In a large measuring cup, whisk together ¾ cup of the buttermilk and 1 egg. Pour the buttermilk mixture into the flour mixture, stirring until just combined.
4
Using a ¼-cup measuring cup, scoop portions of dough onto the prepared baking sheet. Beat the remaining egg with the remaining 1 tablespoon of buttermilk and brush the surface of the biscuits with egg wash.
5
Bake, both trays at one time, until golden brown, 14 to ⏱️ 17 minutes, moving the pan on the top rack to the bottom, and the pan on the bottom rack to the top, halfway through baking. Brush with the remaining 2 tablespoons of olive oil and allow to cool for ⏱️ 5 minutes before serving.
