New Orleans Coffee and Chicory In the Vietnamese Style
This recipe will help you recreate the excellent coffee and chicory (and iced coffee and chicory) from Ba Mien Vietnamese restaurant in New Orleans.

Add 1 Tbsp. sweetened condensed milk to a heatproof glass. Remove the metal filter from the phin and add 1 Tbsp. (heaping) ground coffee with chicory. Twist the filter on gently until it just starts to stop. Place phin onto glass with condensed milk. Pour a tiny bit of boiling water in filter just to wet grounds and allow them to expand. Fill filter with 4 oz. boiling water, top with lid, and allow it to brew 3–⏱️ 5 minutes. The coffee will drip over the condensed milk.

For hot chicory coffee, stir to incorporate the condensed milk and enjoy. For iced chicory coffee, prepare a separate glass of ice and pour mixed coffee over ice.
