Cream the butter, brown sugar and granulated sugar before beating in the maple syrup, followed by the eggs, followed by the vanilla and maple extracts.

Mix the flour mixture into the wet mixture before gently folding the pecans.

Mix the flour mixture into the wet mixture until just combined, before mixing in the pecans.

Scoop the dough, 1-2 tablespoons, at a time, form into balls and place them on baking sheets, lined with parchment paper (or a silicon baking mat), 2 inches apart from each other.

Bake in a preheated 350F/180C oven until they just start to turn lightly golden brown along the edges, ⏱️ 8-10 minutes.

Let cool before drizzling with the maple icing.

Melt the butter into the maple syrup in a saucepan until melted and combined and remove from heat.

Mix in the powdered sugar until smooth and drizzle over the cooled cookies.
