Shape ground Italian sausage into four patties then set aside. Preheat a large skillet over heat that's just a touch above medium then add patties and saute for ⏱️ 4-5 minutes a side, or until cooked through. Alternatively you could grill the burgers over medium-high heat. Add cheese slices on top of burgers then place a lid on top of the skillet, or close the grill lid, and allow cheese to melt.

Meanwhile, heat oil in another large skillet over medium-high heat. Add peppers and onions, season with homemade seasoned salt and pepper, then saute until crisp-tender, ⏱️ 7-8 minutes. Place cheeseburgers onto buns then top with peppers and onions and serve.
