Preheat your oven to 400°F. Place the canola oil and unsalted butter in a 9x13 inch pan and place it in the preheating oven until the butter has melted.

Carefully remove the hot baking dish from the oven. Pour in the water, honey, and ground cumin. Whisk everything together right in the pan to create the glaze.

Add the prepared carrots and the large garlic cloves to the baking dish. Toss everything until evenly coated in the glaze. Season generously with salt and freshly ground pepper.
