Preheat oven to 375 degrees F; then coat a 2-quart baking dish with the melted butter.

Combine the eggs, cream, chives, salt and pepper in a large bowl; then whisk until blended.

Next add the diced ham, apples, bread and cheese. Mix with a spoon; then add the mixture to the baking dish and top with the remaining cheese.
