Turn all grill burners to high, cover, and heat grill until hot, about 10 to ⏱️ 15 minutes. Clean cooking grate.

In a large bowl or on a rimmed baking sheet, add asparagus, olive oil, and salt and pepper (I like at least ¼ teaspoon salt and ⅛ teaspoon pepper). Toss to combine. Be sure to coat the tips of the asparagus well so they don't scorch.

Transfer the asparagus to a single layer over direct heat, perpendicular to the grates, on the grill. Grill until lightly charred but still tender crisp and bright green, about 4 to ⏱️ 6 minutes. Serve with lemon wedges if desired.
