📝 Preparation Steps
1
Preheat oven to 325°F. Line an 8×8 baking pan with parchment paper.*
2
In a saucepan over low heat, melt the butter and 1 cup of chocolate chips together, stirring until smooth. Remove from heat and let cool ⏱️ 5 minutes. Keep a close eye on it so it does not burn.
3
Stir in the granulated sugar and brown sugar until glossy.
4
Add the eggs and egg yolk one at a time, mixing well after each. Stir in the vanilla.

5
In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, and salt.
6
Transfer the batter into a bowl. Fold in the dry ingredients just until combined. Do not overmix.*
7
Fold in the remaining ¼ cup of chocolate chips.
8
Pour into the prepared pan and spread evenly.
9
Bake for about ⏱️ 30 minutes. If you like it less gooey, I suggest baking for 5 more minutes. The edges should be set, but the center will still look slightly underdone.
10
Cool at least ⏱️ 30 minutes before cutting. The brownies finish setting as they cool.
