Whisk together milk, sugar, eggs, butter, and vanilla with an electric mixer on medium speed until com- bined. Add flour, yeast, and salt. Line a rimmed baking sheet with paper towels. Place oil in a medium pot with a deep-fry thermometer attached. Heat to 365°F over medium-high heat. Pull dough into golf ball-size balls. Fry, in batches, turning once, until golden brown, 2 to ⏱️ 4 minutes. Use a slotted spoon or spider to transfer to prepared baking sheet. Dust doughnuts with confectioners’ sugar.
