Stir all ingredients with ice until well chilled. Strain into a chilled coupe glass. Express the oils from a piece of orange peel into the drink, skin side down, then twist the orange peel and thread a cocktail pick through it before adding the cherry and placing in the drink or balancing on the rim of the glass.
