📝 Preparation Steps
1
Bake cake, as per box instructions and let it cool to room temperature OR bring out all of your leftover cake scraps into a large bowl. It can be one flavor or multiple flavors, as long as the flavors work well together.
2
Crumble the cake in a deep mixing bowl. Use your hands or a potato masher, a fork or even a mixer.
3
Start adding a little frosting a (1 tablespoon at a time), while mixing. The amount of icing will depend on how moist your cake is. Typically, you need to add more icing to dry cakes and less icing to moist cakes. The mixture should eventually be moist and slightly crumbly but still hold a ball shape.
4
Use a small ice cream scooper or spoon to scoop out small portions of this mixture and roll into tight balls.
5
Place these balls on a cookie tray lined with wax paper.
6
Dip one end of your lollipop stick in melted chocolate and insert it halfway into the ball. Repeat this step for all the balls.

To make cake balls, you will follow the same instructions above until step 5. You will not push a stick through the balls. Instead you will chill the tray of balls in the freezer until firm. Then, dip in a bowl of melted chocolate individually. Tap off excess and place on a tray lined with wax paper. Toss sprinkles on top to decorate. Allow chocolate to set and become firm at room temperature. Enjoy.
