In a large mixing bowl, add butter and vanilla extract and mix until smooth.

Add powdered sugar (1/2 cup at a time), while continuing to mix.

Add milk (1 tbsp at a time), while continuing to mix until you reach the desired consistency. The icing should be smooth, fluffy and creamy.

Add sprinkles and mix gently with a spatula until evenly distributed.

If you are planning on piping, fill a piping bag with icing. Be sure to use a large round tip to prevent the tip from becoming clogged with sprinkles. Enjoy.
