In a medium microwave-safe bowl, melt 8 oz semi-sweet chocolate in the microwave in ⏱️ 30 second increments until melted, stirring every ⏱️ 30 seconds. Set aside to cool slightly.

In a large bowl whisk together flour, cocoa powder, baking powder and salt. Set aside.

In a bowl of stand mixer, fitted with paddle attachment cream butter and sugar together for ⏱️ 2 minutes until light and fluffy.

Add melted chocolate and stir until combined.

Beat in eggs and vanilla until smooth and incorporated.

Stir the dry ingredients into chocolate mixture until dough forms.

Finally, fold in chocolate chips.

Chill dough for one hour.

Preheat the oven to 350° F. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

Using a cookie scoop or large spoon, drop the cookie dough onto the lined baking sheet about 2- inches apart. Bake for ⏱️ 10-12 minutes until edges are set.
