There’s nothing more comforting than a cosy crumble on a cold evening and this one brings together tart apples, sweet blackberries and a crunchy topping of oats and ground almonds. Naturally rich in fibre and healthy fats, it’s as nourishing as it is delicious. We love it with plant-based custard or ice cream.

Preheat the oven to 160°C fan / 320°F. In a large bowl, mix the apples, blackberries, walnuts, coconut sugar and cinnamon. Transfer to a medium baking dish.

In another bowl, sift in the flour, then mix with the oats, ground almonds, coconut sugar, olive oil, 3 tablespoons of water and a pinch of sea salt to form a rough crumble. Scatter over the fruit.

Bake for 35–⏱️ 40 minutes until golden and bubbling. The apples should be soft and collapsing. Leave to stand for ⏱️ 5 minutes before serving (if you can wait!).
