To Make the Dry Mix for Gifting

In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, salt, cinnamon, and nutmeg.

In a 1-quart glass jar, layer the dry ingredients in this order: the flour mixture, brown sugar, granulated sugar, rolled oats, butterscotch chips, and coconut flakes.

To Make the Cookies

In a large bowl with an electric mixer, beat the butter until soft and fluffy. Blend in the egg and vanilla until combined.

Drop by rounded tablespoons 2-inches apart onto a parchment-lined cookie sheet.
