📝 Preparation Steps
1
First things first, preheat your oven to 375ºF or 190ºC. Getting your oven to the right temperature from the start is key for even cooking. While it heats up, you can get your ingredients ready to go.
2
In a small bowl, it is time to create that delicious sauce. Stir together the melted butter, brown sugar, vanilla extract, ground cinnamon, ground ginger, and kosher salt. Mix it well until everything is combined. The texture should be like a thick, syrupy glaze. The smell alone is amazing.

Now for the fun part. Place your cubed sweet potatoes in a large baking dish or casserole dish. Pour the butter sugar mixture all over them. You can use a large spoon or your clean hands to toss everything together. Make sure every single piece of sweet potato is nicely coated in that wonderful glaze. Spread the coated potatoes out in an even layer. It is okay if they overlap a little bit. The goal is just to make sure they are not all piled up in one corner. This helps them cook evenly and get that lovely caramelization we are looking for in great Candied Sweet Potato Recipes.

Place the baking dish into your preheated oven. Let the sweet potatoes bake for about ⏱️ 55 minutes. You will know they are ready when the potatoes are fork tender. This means a fork can easily pierce through a piece with little resistance. The sugar and potatoes will have caramelized, creating a rich, dark color. You will also see a buttery syrup bubbling in the bottom of the dish. That liquid gold is so good.
5
Once they are done baking, carefully remove the dish from the oven. Let it cool for at least five minutes before serving. That sugary syrup is extremely hot, and sugar burns are not fun! This cooling time also allows the glaze to thicken up a bit as it cools. Then, serve them up warm and enjoy every bite.
