Place the lime wedges and mint leaves into the bottom of a highball glass. Using a muddler, crush the lime with the mint, taking the time to really mush it and break it up, so it becomes fragrant.

Top the glass with ice. Add the simple syrup and rum. Top off the glass with club soda.
