Preheat oven to 375°F. Grease a cookie sheet.

Cream shortening, sugars, egg, and vanilla utill light and fluffy.

Sift together dry ingredients, stir into creamed mixture, and blend well.

Add chocolate chips and stir them into the dough.

Drop from tablespoon 2 inches apart onto the greased cookie sheet.

Bake for 10 to ⏱️ 12 minutes.

Remove cookies from the cookie sheet immediately and place them on a wire rack to cool.
