Preheat the oven to 375°F. Line a 12-cup muffin tin with cupcake liners.

In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, cinnamon, baking powder, salt, baking soda, and nutmeg.

In a large bowl, whisk together the granulated sugar, brown sugar, vegetable oil, sour cream, vanilla, and eggs. Use a rubber spatula to fold in the zucchini. Add the flour mixture and the chocolate chips to the zucchini mixture, stirring until just combined.

Fill each muffin cup with about ⅓ cup batter (they will be full). Top each muffin cup with a few chocolate chips. Bake until the tops are golden brown and a toothpick inserted in the center of a muffin comes out clean (there may be smears of chocolate), 20 to ⏱️ 25 minutes.

Let the muffins cool for ⏱️ 5 minutes in the muffin tin before removing to a wire rack.
