Chicken Teriyaki Recipe
Easy Teriyaki Chicken with only 5 Minute prep infused with Sweet Chili Sauce for added depth of flavor and YUM! Whisk together the Teriyaki Marinade ingredients in a large freezer bag or bowl. Reserve ⅓ cup for the Glaze. To the remaining Marinade in the large bowl/bag, whisk in 2 tablespoons apple cider vinegar and ¼ cup olive oil.

Add the chicken to the Marinade and turn to coat. Marinate for ⏱️ 30 minutes at room temperature or up to overnight in the refrigerator (preferred). Refrigerate the remaining Glaze separately.

GRILL DIRECTIONS

When ready to cook, let the chicken sit at room temperature for 15 to ⏱️ 30 minutes. Meanwhile, grease the grill and preheat to medium heat, 375 to 450°F. Drain chicken from the Marinade and pat dry.

BONELESS CHICKEN BREASTS OR THIGHS: Grill the boneless chicken breasts and thighs undisturbed for 5 to ⏱️ 7 minutes per side, or until chicken is cooked through. (An inserted thermometer should read 165 degrees F when chicken is done.)

SKINLESS BONE-IN CHICKEN THIGHS: Add chicken to the grill, cover, and reduce heat so it stays around 350-375°F with the lid CLOSED. Grill chicken thighs ⏱️ 6-10 minutes per side, depending on size, or until no longer pink and an inside thermometer registers 165° F.

Add the reserved Glaze to a small saucepan. Bring to a simmer on the grill or stovetop, stirring often, until thickened. Brush the cooked chicken with Glaze. Garnish the chicken with green onions, sesame seeds, and chili sauce to taste (optional).

Heat 1 tablespoon olive oil in a large non-stick skillet over medium-high heat. Once very hot, drain the chicken from the Marinade, pat dry, and add to the skillet.

Cook undisturbed for ⏱️ 2-3 minutes, or until nicely browned on one side. Turn chicken over, cover, and reduce heat to medium. Cook for an additional ⏱️ 3-5 minutes (depending on the thickness of the chicken), or until the chicken is cooked through. Remove to a plate and tent with foil.

Add the reserved Glaze to the now-empty skillet. Bring to a simmer, stirring often, until thickened. Brush the cooked chicken with Glaze. Garnish chicken with green onions, sesame seeds, and chili sauce to taste (optional).
