Heat the butter, brown sugar, and maple syrup in a saucepan over medium heat, bring to a simmer, and cook until the sugar has melted, before mixing in the cinnamon, nutmeg, slat, orange zest, and vanilla extract.

Place the sweet potatoes in a large casserole dish, pour the butter and sugar mixture over the potatoes, and bake in a preheated 375F/190C oven until the potatoes are tender, about ⏱️ 60 minutes, mixing every ⏱️ 20 minutes.
