📝 Preparation Steps
1
Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the bowtie pasta and cook until al dente (⏱️ 10-12 minutes). In the last ⏱️ 3 minutes, add the broccoli florets to the boiling water. Before draining, reserve 1/2 cup of pasta water. Drain the pasta and broccoli and set aside.

While the water boils, place the chicken pieces in a bowl. Sprinkle with Cajun seasoning, garlic powder, smoked paprika, salt, and pepper. Toss well to coat every piece evenly.

Heat 2 tbsp olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the seasoned chicken in a single layer, ensuring not to crowd the pan. Cook for ⏱️ 6-7 minutes, turning occasionally, until browned and cooked through. Remove chicken and set aside.

Reduce heat to medium in the same skillet. Add 6 tbsp unsalted butter and let it melt, scraping up any browned bits from the chicken. Add 4 cloves minced garlic and sauté for ⏱️ 1-2 minutes until fragrant. Stir in 1/2 tsp crushed red pepper flakes (if using), 1 tsp Dijon mustard, lemon juice, and lemon zest. Mix in 2 tbsp fresh parsley and 1 tbsp fresh chives. Season with more salt and pepper to taste.

Return the cooked pasta, broccoli, and chicken to the skillet with the sauce. Toss gently to coat everything. Pour in the reserved pasta water a little at a time to help the sauce cling to the noodles. Finally, stir in 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese until the sauce is creamy and well combined. Serve warm with extra herbs and a squeeze of lemon.
