Bake 1 (15.25-ounce) box devil's food cake mix according to the directions on the box for a 9x13 cake pan. Remove from the oven and let cool for ⏱️ 10 minutes.

Add 12 ounces caramel sauce and 1 (14-ounce) can sweetened condensed milk to a medium bowl and mix until combined. Poke holes in the top of the warm cake with the handle of a wooden spoon, then pour the caramel mixture evenly over the top of the cake. Let it cool completely, for about an hour.

Spread 1 (8-ounce) container thawed whipped topping on top of the cooled cake and sprinkle with ½ cup Heath toffee bits. Refrigerate for an hour and serve.
