Preheat your oven to 400 degrees Fahrenheit. Fill a large pot with about a gallon of water and one and a half tablespoons of salt. Bring to a rolling boil.

Drain the beans in a colander and immediately plunge them into the ice water to stop cooking. Chill for a few minutes, then drain well and place in a large bowl.
