Prepare apple filling

In a large mixing bowl, add apples, granulated sugar, lemon juice, cinnamon, nutmeg. Mix to combine everything.

Spread this apple mixture in a greased baking dish (8x8 or 7x11).

In another mixing bowl, add flour, oats, brown sugar, cinnamon powder, nutmeg, butter cubes. Use a pastry cutter or a large fork to cut the butter into the flour/oat mixture until you have a crumbly mixture. Do not add milk or water to thin it out.
