Build in the shaker tin—first the simple syrup, then the lime, Chartreuse, and rum. Taste. Miller High Life is deceptively sweet, so before the cocktail gets strained into your glass, it needs to be on the dry side.

Grab your Collins glass and add 4 ice cubes, then bottom with some of the beer; set aside. Add 3 ice cubes to the shaking tin and Collins shake. Taste again. Does it feel a little too hot and boozy right now? That’s okay! It’s going to mingle with the beer, which will stretch out the dilution. Strain into the prepared Collins glass. We serve the beer remaining in the pony bottle alongside the cocktail. Garnish with the lime wheel.
