These Asian style meatballs made with lean ground beef in a honey, sesame soy sauce are delicious and great for entertaining.

Preheat the oven to 400 degrees F; then line a baking sheet with a silpat mat or parchment paper.

In a mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, 1/2 teaspoon sesame oil, egg, breadcrumbs, ginger, 1 teaspoon garlic powder and scallions.

Mix well with clean hands; then form the meatballs and place on the baking sheet. (1 tablespoon per meatball)

Place the baking sheet in the oven and cook for ⏱️ 10 minutes until brown. While the meatballs are cooking, you can make the sauce.

Add 1 teaspoon sesame oil, soy sauce, honey, ketchup, 1 teaspoon garlic powder and pepper to a 3-quart Dutch oven or large pot.

Whisk together; then cook over high heat until it comes to a boil. Reduce heat to medium and cook another ⏱️ 5-7 minutes until the meatballs are done. Combine the cornstarch and cold water in a small dish, mix until smooth; then add to the sauce and stir until slightly thickened.

Add the cooked meatballs to the sauce, toss to coat; then serve. You can add extra scallions or sesame seeds as an optional garnish.
