📝 Preparation Steps
1
Preheat your air fryer to 350F for at least ⏱️ 3 minutes, or according to your manufacturers instructions.
2
Add the almonds to a medium sized bowl.
3
Add the chili powder, cumin, garlic powder, cayenne, smoked paprika, and salt to the bowl.
chili powder2 teaspoons
4
Toss well to distribute the seasonings evenly over the almonds.
5
Add the melted butter and liquid smoke to the bowl of seasoned almonds and toss well to combine.
liquid smoke1 teaspoon
6
Pour the coated almonds into the basket of your preheated air fryer. Spread them out into an even layer.
7
Cook for ⏱️ 5-8 minutes, shaking the basket halfway through to ensure even cooking. Keep a close eye on the almonds, as they can burn quite easily. You want them to be warm and crispy, but not blackened. In my Ninja basket-style air fryer they cook in about ⏱️ 6 minutes.
8
Once the almonds are done, remove the basket and transfer the almonds to a parchment lined tray or baking sheet. Let them cool completely before transferring to an air tight container for storage.
